Driver's door latch replaced

Got the latch replaced tonight, with a break in the middle to have dinner with Lydia and Charlie. It's COLD in the garage right now.

Here's the new latch:

And my nearly perfect door panels, quite a rarity in the FJ40 world:

This seal is still intact, although it doesn't really help much, considering that every other seal on the door is shot and the bottom is rusted anyway. I peeled it back carefully nonetheless.

Here you can see why there's play in the latch- this was half the problem.

Old latch removed:

New latch installed:

And here's the wear on the door striker- the other half of the problem. I just unbolted this, turned it around, and bolted it back up. Maybe I can get another 30 years out of the other side.

New latch and door reassembled:

And it only took this many tools!
